J&K: Two JeM Militants Killed In Joint Encounters Between Security Forces And Militants In Baramulla And Shopian

The encounters broke out after police and security forces received specific input about the presence of terrorists in those areas.

Jammu and Kashmir police on Friday confirmed that two local Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) militants were killed in an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district on Friday.

"01 more #terrorist killed (Total 02). Both the local terrorists linked with proscribed #terror outfit JeM. #Search operation in progress. Further details shall follow," Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Kashmir, Vijay Kumar said in a tweet. 

Two encounters broke out between the security forces and the militants in Shopian and Baramulla districts in the early hours of Friday, 

"Encounter has started at Chitragam area of Shopian. Police and security forces are on the job," police said in a tweet.

In another tweet, police said, "Encounter has started at Yedipora, Pattan area of Baramulla. Police and security forces are on the job."
