'Will Be Killed Soon': Sidhu Moose Wala's Father Gets Death Threat Via Email

In the threat mail, Sidhu Moose Wala’s father Balkaur Singh was asked not to take Lawrence Bishnoi’s name or he will be ‘killed’. This is not the first time he alleged death threats.

Slain Punjabi rapper Sidhu Moose Wala’s father Balkaur Singh on Sunday reportedly alleged he received a death threat through an email by an unknown person asking him to not take Lawrence Bishnoi’s name or he will be ‘killed’.

“I've received threats on email from Rajasthan saying that I'll be killed soon, so don't take Lawrence Bishnoi's name,” Moose Wala’s father was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.

This is not the first time Singh alleged death threats. He had claimed to have received similar threats in February too that he would be killed before April 25.

“What wrong am I doing? Should I not fight my son's case? I was threatened on February 18, 24 and 27 that I will be killed before April 25...I would like to tell the government to take back my security, I will continue to fight,” he was quoted as saying.

During an event observing the first death anniversary of the singer-politician earlier this month, Balkaur Singh appealed to fans to peacefully assemble in numbers in Punjab's Mansa to mark the singer's first death anniversary which was being observed.

Singh appealed to the masses to reach Mansa in huge numbers to “chalk out the next plan” to seek justice for Moosewala. The family has been alleging that there is a "bigger conspiracy" behind the killing and that the police must arrest the "actual masterminds".

Earlier on March 7, Singh held a protest outside Punjab Assembly reiterating his demand for a CBI probe into the murder of his son and Pujabi rapper-politician Sidhu Moose Wala.

He alleged that despite visiting the police and administration several times following his son’s death and getting assurances, nothing was done.

“In the last 10 months…what's happening here is being done to brush under the carpet the murder of my child. Nothing is going in my favour. So, I had to come to Assembly,” he had said at the protest.

Sidhu Moose Wala was brutally shot dead in Jawahar Ke village Punjab's Mansa district on May 29, 2022. He was travelling with his cousin and a friend in a car when bullets were sprayed on him by six shooters in his hometown. He had suffered more than 30 gunshots.
