Union rail minister Laloo Prasad Yadav’s Bihari bandwagon has suffered a derailment here. The Bangalore chapter of the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) has passed an order quashing the appointments made by the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) for the post of assistant station masters in the Hubli zone. The CAT order said the selection procedure was "manipulated" to "influence the outcome". It noted that out of the 46 candidates selected, over half (26) were from Bihar. The CAT order said that the latter fared well only in the psychology test, an aptitude test with arbitrary evaluation methods. To supersede the marks scored in this over three rounds of written tests is unfair, it added. "The results are disturbing and inexplicable," the report concluded. The CAT has now asked for fresh selections.
