Andhra Pradesh appears to be heading for a bloody election. Even before the poll schedule has been announced, the Naxals have killed six political activists, four of them TDP members. The Congress, though not on top of their list, has not got away unscathed. Last week, two gunmen of an ex-Congress mla were killed and their weapons snatched. A local NSUI leader, who tried to intervene, was also killed. However, no attempt was made to kill the ex-MLA. Caretaker CM Chandrababu Naidu immediately accused the Congress and its potential ally, the Telangana Rashtriya Samiti, of working with the Naxals to eliminate TDP and BJP leaders.
