There were just rows of spacious, old-fashioned bungalows which have now given way to a concrete jungle. I, too, am guilty of having contributed in this process of urbanisation by selling off my bungalow. Even though I’m close to the sea and just across the famous Jogger’s Park, there’s still a lot of pollution in the area. Perhaps because many of the joggers come to the park in their cars. Of course, in Mumbai, open spaces are hard to come by, so one should be thankful for any green space available. When visitors come to my house, I seat them facing the sea and the park. It’s great to see the expression on their faces as they take in the view.
