So Om Puri has made a name for himself internationally by working in English films. But the dice can sometimes roll the other way too. A small-time English actress has risen out of anonymity, all thanks to a Hindi movie. Rachel Shelley, who played the pro-farmer Englishwoman in Lagaan, is the toast of the British media these days. The latest gossip is that the lady had an affair on the sets of the movie. When asked, she brushed it off as D.C.O.T (doesn’t count on tour), meaning anything can happen on an outdoor schedule. But who was the guy anyways?...Talking of British media, our Arundhati Roy is the talking point again. She has been featured on the cover of the Guardian weekend colour magazine with the article focusing on how the Booker prize-winner turned into an anti-nuke, anti-big dams activist... Across the border, or shall we say LoC, Pakistanis are busy enquiring about the food served at the editors’ meet.
