When did you write your first poem?
At 17. It just happened.

But why poetry?
Because it is so precise and illustrates the strength of language.

Are you interested in politics as well?
Politics is something that governs our life. It is essential for us, especially my generation, to be aware and sensitive to the events around us.

Do we see you joining politics eventually?
There is nothing to be embarrassed about it. Right now, I am concentrating on my law degree. Whenever I want to join active politics, I would make my intentions clear.

Any particular party in your mind?
Definitely a party which works for the welfare of the poor and also, which is secular.

Your concerns?
To only think of yourself is to make yourself smaller. I worry about the future, not mine.

Then why write poetry?
I'll be happy if I am able to use poetry to influence the way people think. Politics can be used to better the lives of the people-both should be used together.

Is your family name a burden for you?
It does carry some weight, but is not a burden for me.

Have you read Nehru's works?
I have read Discovery of India.

Would you like to write another Discovery of India?
It is time for solutions now, not discoveries.
