Meal for two without alcohol:

Hot pink petalled chandeliers, vibrant Manish Arora installations, a clientele including the kitsch king himself and Priyanka Gandhi, and not a beatific Buddha in sight.... Nothing about this year-old haute-Chinese restaurant suggests ‘cheap’, associated with the dreaded ‘Chindian’ slur. But they do do a mean value-for-money dimsum feast, the ‘Yum Cha’ lunch. Six days a week, you get a soup, a starter, unlimited dimsums, two splendid desserts, and endless libations of refreshing Jasmine tea for just under Rs 500. Our meal got off to a wonky start, with an over-processed chicken soup, and a ‘crispy corn curd’ entree (corn-on-toast, to translate from swank-ese) which met a premature, gluey end on my fingers. But then came the scrumptious dimsums: the subtly flavoured six-spice chicken, the crunchy gift-package of tofu and broccoli stem, the satisfaction of the plump Pork Bao. We loved the sui mai, a volcano brimming over with glass noodles and bamboo shoots. And greedily demanded a second round of what my companion declared to be a "chef d’oeuvre": Duck Har Gao with cherry hoisin. All rounded off with tasty cappuccino ice-cream and sinful chocolate mud pudding.
