Subhash Bhan Sadh was a typical state-level babu. Reputed to have a passion for paperwork and a penchant for photocopying documents. Known to be nondescript and not the kind who would figure in a sequence from a James Bond thriller. Little did the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the Uttar Pradesh home department know he was being followed when he boarded the Kashi Vishwanath Express at Lucknow on April 30. Whoever was tailing him had his eye on two files Sadh was carrying in his luggage. Enough reason for this mysterious stranger to push Sadh off the train at Tilak Bridge in Delhi the following morning. Sadh eventually died in hospital. But not before alerting relatives that he was pushed and that they should look out for crucial files he was carrying. But these files simply disappeared.
What was in the files? They contained crucial documents relating to the razing of Babri Masjid which he was to submit to the Liberhans Commission inquiring into the demolition. Was the OSD the victim of a well-organised cover-up job?
