Three Davids. In three different places and times. But eventually all bound to each other. One is an impassive henchman in London in search of his tangled roots, another a callow musician in Bombay looking for an elusive ‘direction to life’ and the third a brute and a boozard in Goa seeking life-altering love.

Will they find what they are looking for? The climax that brings the three strands together does provide a sense of closure, but it feels enforced. Bejoy Nambiar’s film could have been an intriguing exploration of the vagaries of fate and fortune. But, unfortunately, as with most films released this week, it falls short of its inherent possibilities. There is a lot of stylistic lustre in the storytelling but a lingering insipidity as well. Even as the filmmaker sets the scene for each of the stories, he can’t catch the viewer’s curiosity and interest. If the first story remains inert, the second one is slapdash and the third gets trapped in its loudness and slapstick.

Even actors of the calibre of Tabu and Vikram pale and fail to leave an impression. But other reliable ones like Saurabh Shukla and Satish Kaushik do manage to impress, irrespective of the size of their roles.
