What has the government done so far to arrest Dara Singh?

From day one the state government has taken measures to arrest the culprit. When the report was submitted there was a controversy regarding the exact nature of crime and after that an incident took place. I visited the place and strengthened the administration and also put an IG in charge of the combing operations. We arrested six people. Arresting people unnecessarily is not the intention but one has to be quizzed to acquire information.

What information do you have about Dara's political links?

One of Dara's close men, arrested by the state police, has divulged that Dara Singh has links with the bjp. And also that he belongs to the Bajrang Dal. On the basis of this statement and the statement made by bjp leader Madan Lal Khurana it is established that he is a bjp affiliate.

What if the court acquits all of them?

I am not making the statement on my own. I am saying it on the basis of the facts provided by Dara's associates. At this juncture all I can say is that my government is serious.

But the Wadhwa Commission has said that Dara is not a member of the Bajrang Dal...

One of Dara's close associates makes such a statement. Besides, the local people know for which party Dara was campaigning. The motive behind such killings is clear. Why are they attacking a particular community? Come what may, we have to protect the minorities.

But your government has miserably failed in protecting the minorities.

Where have I failed as a government? No. Whatever measures were required we took them. As far as minorities are concerned there was no such incident for six months after I became chief minister. Why (is it happening) only after the report (Wadhwa Commission) was submitted? We are facing an election, therefore, such things will always be there but we should not play with human lives.

Ultimately, it is the duty of the state government to nab the culprit.

Why the state government only and why not the government of India? Why have they sent the CBI then? I have done my duty by arresting his associates, which was not possible. I think we are inching close to Dara Singh.
