Blown Away

It’s always once in a while that a game comes along and completely takes you with its creative art, while tackling a very oddball concept. Blown Away introduces you to Hendrik, a bean-like creature who has nothing to his name except a hair on his head and battery-powered teleporting shoes. Now, with all the technology and your wits at your disposal, you need to find the remains of Hendrik’s house to restore his peaceful life. This is done across 120 levels of walking, shifting and teleporting. In addition to the brilliant game-play, Blown Away boasts brilliant crafted graphics and an apt sound design. The downside, though, is that it runs funny on smallscreen phones and if you devote too much of the livelong day on it, covering over 100 levels is not that big a deal.

Holiday IQ

Rating: **

Another one in the trip planning help league, Holiday IQ brought nothing new to the market, except its application format. Yet, what it has managed to do is make the available information pleasant-looking and easy to fetch; the design, feel and usability of the app is good. If you discount the unoriginal idea of the app, the rest is quite okay. But you must stick to it and what you find there, their personal care agents and personalised content will ensure you never get a holiday—it is very very slow, to say the least.
