Bharti Pradhan’s book release had, for once, Salman Khan in a sober role. Salman is on the cover of Pradhan’s book on secularism in Bollywood, along with his two baby nephews (one’s half-Hindu, the other’s half-Christian). He shared his experience living with different religions in the family as Shahrukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan and Mahesh Bhatt narrated theirs. Bollywood stars may get dangerously close to underworld dons and convert to Islam to net that extra wife but in Pradhan’s book they talk of reading the Quran and doing pooja in the same room, bringing up children who say Ganapati Allah and don’t understand why Hindu-Muslims fight because they’re both. "It’s a very insular industry so people bond with each other irrespective of religion," says Pradhan. Of course, there are tip sheets on how to win over potential crusty and conservative pas-in-law but then having Shahrukh’s charm helps!
