The portions are so tiny you need a magnifying glass. Then again you don’t go for the food. It’s the view, silly!

Just getting there feels surreal. The traffic crawls past Mumbai’s underbelly as the City that never sleeps readies for the night. The Four Seasons hotel is located in the middle of Worli’s once thriving mill area, now in the process of being transformed into a commercial hub. Such is our resistance to all things socially unpalatable that as the elevator starts to climb up and away into the rooftop open-to-sky bar on the 34th floor, the mood changes. They should have called the place...Wow! It feels as though we have got wings. The City is spread out like a smorgasbord of sparkling wine bottles. AER the bar is fashionably minimalistic. It’s wrapped in glass panels, so that you can see the view and not be blown away.

It’s also very friendly. Before you can sit down on your own pod-like seats in black, white and chrome you get small bowls of crunchies. The wines, the whiskies, the cocktails reflect the taste of the times, as also the finger foods, dips, olives. Med-cred rules. We order a Middle Eastern platter and, though it’s satisfying, the portions are so tiny you need a magnifying glass. Then again you don’t go for the food. It’s the view, silly!
