RR Vs GT, IPL 2022: All-round Gujarat Titans Beat Rajasthan Royals, Go Top Of Table

Not the greatest match of the season, but a fascinating clash nonetheless considering how the two teams, vying for the IPL 2022 top spot, got off to contrasting starts but ended with an equally surprising ending. Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson won the toss and opted to bowl first against Gujarat Titans at Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy, Mumbai. The debutants Gujarat Titans then lost quick wickets, only to see skipper Hardik Pandya (87 not out of 52) and Abhinav Manohar (43 off 28) reviving the innings. It was followed by a late flourish from David Miller (31 off 14). Unlike the Titans, Royals got off to a flier with Jos Buttler soon reclaiming the Orange Cap from Pandya en route to a stunning 24-ball 54. Royals, however, lost steam. And at the end, the difference was 37 runs. A big win. Titans now have eight points from five matches. Five teams are tied on second with six points each from five outings.
