Rajasthan Royals become the first team to win batting first in IPL 2022. It was a Royal day for Rajasthan. First, they pile up 210/6 against a hapless Sunrisers Hyderabad bowling attack before reducing the opposition to 78/6 to set the stage for victory. Aiden Markram (57) and Washington Sundar (40) added some runs towards the end to save the Orange Army from blushes. SRH finished at 149/7. With a new-look side, RR came with intent with their top five all getting starts. Skipper Sanju Samson, who completed 100 caps in RR colours, made the memorable with a 27-ball 55, going bonkers, particularly against Sundar. Defending 211, first Prasidh Krishna and Trent Boult ripped the SRH top order before Yuzvendra Chahal spun the web around the opposition with 3/22 en route to his 250 T20 wickets.
