Winning the toss, KKR bowlers did a tremendous job in restricting the opposition under 160. Sanju Samson fifty and a late surge from Shimron Hetmyer took RR to 152/5. In reply, KKR’s opening woes continued by losing both the openers inside the powerplay. Shreyas Iyer and Nitish Rana steadied the ship with a 60-run stand. But with the skipper gone, it was left to Rana and young Rinku Singh to do the job. If Rana-Iyer’s stand laid the platform, Rinku stepped up at the right moment keeping his calm and seeing his team home. In the end, Rana remained unbeaten on 48 while Rinku on 42.
