West Indies played the better cricket but still ended up losing the match and the series as a clinical India registered a thrilling 8-run win in the second T20I at the iconic Eden Gardens, Kolkata on Friday. And settling the issue was Bhuvneswhar Kumar's penultimate over -- four runs and a wicket. On the day former India captain Virat Kohli and Rishabh Pant hit half centuries, the Windies presented themselves with a very good chance to beat the hosts. Nicholas Pooran and Rovman Powell added 100 runs for the third wicket with dropped catches felicitating their stay in the middle. And Powell almost did a Carlos Brathwaite. But the Windies came short by two boundaries with Harshal Patel regaining his senses after conceding two sixes in the last over. The third and final T20I is scheduled for Sunday at the same venue.
