Rohit Sharma’s dream run as Indian captain continues as he led his team to a huge 238-run win over Sri Lanka in the second pink-ball Test match in Bengaluru on Monday. It took India just eight sessions to complete the victory and also the series sweep having won the first Test in Mohali. With a mountain of 447 runs to scale to square the series, Sri Lanka were never in the chase save Dimuth Karunaratne (107) and Kusal Mendis (54) who provided some resistance. Starting the day on 28/1, the Karunaratne-Mendis duo put on 97 runs for the second wicket. However, the wicket of Mendis triggered the collapse. With wickets falling at the other end, captain Dimuth Karunaratne stood like a rock at the other end scoring his 14th Test ton in the process. India’s victory was virtually sealed when Jasprit Bumrah went through the gates of Karunaratne. Sri Lanka were finally all out for 208 in 59.3 overs. India won the first Test in Mohali by an innings. India now have won all three pink-ball Tests at home, having beaten beating Bangladesh (in Kolkata, 2019) and England (in Ahmedabad, 2021) before. This was India's last international match before the Indian Premier League 2022, which starts on March 26. Get highlights of IND vs SL pink-ball Test.
