A total of INR 3,88,10,00,000 was spent on day 1 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction in Bengaluru on Saturday. 74 cricketers, including 20 overseas players, were picked by 10 franchises. But the day also witnessed auctioneer Hugh Edmeades collapse mid-way and Charu Sharma feeling in for him. Ishan Kishan was the biggest earner, pocketing INR 15.25 crore with Mumbai Indians bid hard to retain their wicketkeeper. On Sunday, the auction will start at 12 noon. Catch day 1 highlights here:

In case you missed it, auctioneer Hugh Edmeades had collapsed mid-way during the bidding war of Wanindu Hasaranga. His health is stable now and Charu Sharma has replaced him as auctioneer for IPL auction 2022.
While the duo of Suresh Raina and Steve Smith went unsold on their base price of INR 2 crore each, Harshal Patel, the purple cap holder from the previous edition, bagged a big sum of 10.75 crore with a move to RCB.
Shreyas Iyer was the highest buy in the first set of IPL 2022 player auction on Saturday as Kolkata Knight Riders paid a whopping sum of INR 12.25 crores for him.
All eyes will be on the Indian Under-19 players like Yash Dhull and Raj Bawa, who did very well in West Indies as India won a record fifth World Cup. Young all-rounder Odean Smith of West Indies should evoke some interest too.
The lowest base price is Rs 20 lakh while the highest is Rs 2 crores. The 10 marquee players all have a base price of Rs 2 Crore but interestingly, there are 48 players, 17 of them Indians, with the highest base price.
All eyes will be on the 10 marquee players with whom the IPL 2022 player auction will begin at 12 noon. They are Ravi Ashwin, Trent Boult, Pat Cummins, Quinton de Kock, Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer, Faf du Plessis, Kagiso Rabada, Mohammed Shami and David Warner.
