China Faces Covid-19 Surge Amid Rising Unrest

China is facing a surge in Covid-19 infections for weeks and officials are scrambling to contain the infections and increase testing. The surge has coincided with rising anger over President Xi Jinping's 'Zero Covid' strategy and violent protests, which include running away from industrial area, clashing with the police, and raising banners calling Xi 'tyrant' and 'dictator'. More than 253,000 coronavirus cases have been found in China in the past three weeks and the daily average is also rising.
