Rishab Shetty Films which has been backing good cinema is back at the fore with another project. This time it is Laughing Buddha starring Pramod Shetty and Teju Belawadi. Directed by Bharath Raj who had helmed Hero earlier, is directing this one.
The movie is a quirky and fun film which sees him playing the protagonist in the form of a head constable. “He is fun, spreads cheer and in general, likes living the good life. He reminds you of the Laughing Buddha - happy, rotund and there’s never a dull moment around him. That is why the title Laughing Buddha,” shares Bharath.

The movie has gone on the floors in Bhadravathi over the weekend. “Laughing Buddha is a story that is set in Malnad and we have created a fictional town called Niruru for it. We found an old building which we have transformed into a police station,” shares the director. Majority of the movie will be shot here.
Teju Belawadi plays Pramod’s wife and the story is about what happens when Pramod approaches his senior to take a day’s leave for an outing with his wife.
