Moreover, the President of India is the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces. Article 53 (2) of the Indian Constitution declares: “Without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing provision, the supreme command of the Defence Forces of the Union shall be vested in the President and the exercise thereof shall be regulated by law”

These two sentences; one paraphrased by the author and the other a faithful reproduction of the Article 53 of the Constitution of India, are bound to stare at each other in quizzical manner.

Let the writer be educated about two basic issues.
One that the President is the supreme commander of the DEFENCE I say again the DEFENCE forces of UNION and not the supreme commander of ARMED forces of the union of India.

Secondly there is a sea difference between the defence forces that is Army Navy Air force and the armed forces of union of India that is central armed police forces.
But the author is not alone he has in his solemn and blissful company the ministry of defence which in its website make the same UNEDUCATED statement.
