A commission of 12% instead of 2% offered to agents seems to be the root cause of the problem as most seats are reserved through one agent or the other. Also, the government should explain why it has followed a different route in the case of Jet as against SpiceJet, which it bailed out. If there's no malafide intention on the part of the owners, it's in the interests of the country to bail out struggling companies as they provide employment and generate taxes.
