Billionaire Elon Musk-led Twitter is once again in the middle of controversies, but this time due to a lawsuit. As per a report, Twitter’s former PR firm has sued the company over unpaid bills.
According to a Reuters report, the PR firm has alleged that Twitter has not paid any of the pending bills ever since Elon Musk acquired the social media giant for $44 billion. It adds that Twitter may owe $8,30,498 and comprises six unpaid invoices plus costs for a subpoena.
“Joele Frank said Twitter owes $830,498, comprising six unpaid invoices, plus costs for a subpoena in Twitter's lawsuit to force Musk to complete the buyout after he tried to back out,” the publication was quoted as saying.
As per the report, the PR firm also added that Musk-led Twitter also ended its contract on November 16, three weeks after the buyout closed, and no longer communicates about its payment demand beyond an automated pledge...
Apart from this, Twitter is also reportedly being sued in Delaware by three former employees. These include Parag Agarwal, the former Twitter CEO who was ousted by Elon Musk soon after the takeover.
Recently, Elon Musk also announced that he would step down from the role of Twitter CEO and would continue as the CTO. In his place, NBCUniversal executive Linda Yaccarino would take over as the CEO.
