Reliance Jio has forayed into the Bluetooth trackers market with their latest product, JioTag. The small device is similar to Samsung’s Galaxy SmartTag and Apple’s AirTag. It is a cost-effective device and can be attached to accessories and devices to help locate them using Bluetooth connectivity with the user’s smartphone.
What Is JioTag?
JioTag is a Bluetooth tracker launched by Jio that helps users keep track of their devices and accessories. The white square-shaped device weighs around 9.5 grams. It has a Jio logo on it and measures 3.82 x 3.82 x 0.72cm.
Users can connect the JioTag to the JioThings app on their smartphone and attach the tag to personal items like wallets and handbags to know their whereabouts.
JioTag operates on a replaceable battery with a lifespan of one year. It has a range of 20 metres indoors and 50 metres outdoors. It connects to the smartphone using Bluetooth 5.1.
Features Of JioTag
According to Reliance Jio, Tag can help search for lost items. If you double-tap on the tracker, your phone will ring even in silent mode.
JioTag also alerts you when you forget your belongings like keys, and wallets and provides the accurate location where you left them.
However, the JioTag does not support the Ultra-Wideband network but it does come with a similar feature, the Jio Community Find. If you can’t locate your lost items on the last place to disconnect it, you can label your JioTag as lost on the JioThings app and the Community Find will then search to report your lost JioTag to you.
How To Buy And Price
JioTag provides a cost-effective alternative to Apple’s AirTag. Currently, the device is available at Rs 749 on the company’s website. It is available for purchase on the official Jio.com website, Reliance Digital and JioMart.
