Indian Premier League 2023 viewership on Disney Star Network reached 48.2 crore after the week 7 of the tournament.
The network said that this is the highest viewership for any IPL edition, crossing the previous high set during IPL 2019.
During the week, four matches recorded peak concurrency greater than three crore. The network informed that total number of matches with peak concurrency greater than three crore has now reached 40.
Chennai Super Kings vs Kolkata Knight Riders tie saw 4.2 crore concurrent viewers, highest during week 7.
For the tournament, the highest concurrency recorded on Disney Star Network was 5.6 crore during the CSK vs GT match.
According to the numbers provided by the network, its TV ratings (TVR) year-on-year growth rate for week 7 stood at 43% while the TVR grew by 32% compared to viewership of previous edition after 66 games.
Last week, Disney Star Network said that after 57 matches, the viewership number had reached 47.14 crore.
Seven matches during week 6 had crossed concurrency of three crore.
Disney Star Network is broadcasting the tournament on television while JioCinema has the digital streaming rights.
JioCinema also shared its numbers for the first playoff match between CSK and GT. The streaming service recorded 2.5 crore concurrent viewers during the final overs of the match.
IPL 2023 began on March 31 and the premier cricket tournament will end on May 28, with the final scheduled to take place at Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad.
