The BBC offices in Delhi and Mumbai are reportedly being searched by the Income Tax Department officials. As per latest updates, what was speculated as an Income Tax raid on BBC offices is now being called a mere 'survey'.

As per ANI, the Income Tax (IT) Department officials have said that the visit at the BBC offices in Delhi and Mumbai is a 'limited survey action' just to check certain financial aspects of the company. However, contrary to the reportage of it being a 'raid', it isn't one.

According to another report on NDTV, the income tax officials were carrying out the survey at BBC over allegations of international taxation and transfer pricing irregularities involving the company.

The searches at BBC offices in Delhi and MUmbai come just a few days after the media house released a scathing two-part documentary series called 'India: The Modi Question.' The documentary that caused havoc in both India and at the international level, was eventually taken down from many platforms.

BBC informed via a Twitter post that they are fully cooperating with IT authorities and that they hope to resolve the situation at the earliest.
