After the suspension of several journalists’ Twitter accounts, Elon Musk-led platform Twitter announces that it is going to incorporate “mute” and “block signals” for Twitter Blue users. Since Elon Musk’s acquisition of Twitter, he has made several announcements regarding the changes in Twitter’s policy, with Twitter Blue being one of them. Users can now flag a tweet as offensive and irrelevant by using the mute and block signals, which have been incorporated as downvoters.
According to a tweet by Musk, “Twitter will start incorporating mute & block signals from Blue Verified (not Legacy Blue) as downvotes”.
He further tweeted that, “To be clear, all user actions will factor into a NN model for a tweet and the account tweeting, including positive actions.”
According to IBM Cloud Education, “Neural networks reflect the behaviour of the human brain, allowing computer programs to recognize patterns and solve common problems in the fields of AI, machine learning, and deep learning.” In other words, Neural networks are computerised systems with interconnected nodes that mimic the function of brain neurons. They can cluster and categorise raw data using algorithms, and identify hidden patterns and correlations.
He further added, “As user accounts develop credibility, their actions will have greater weight, similar to how @CommunityNotes works.”
Musk also announced that Twitter would make it easier to see tweets from just those you follow, as well as other tweet curations.

Musk recently introduced his Twitter Blue membership service, which includes coloured ticks for people, businesses, governments, and government agencies.
Android users must pay $8 per month in order to subscribe to the Twitter blue service while iPhone users have to pay $11 per month for the verification badge. In addition to other benefits, the service will let users edit tweets and display a checkmark in a blue badge next to their profile images. Moreover, Twitter Blue subscribers will see half as many adverts as non-subscribers.
