The crypto market although was trading with gains, but was highly volatile. Prices of major cryptos like Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Binance (BNB), others were trading with gains but some other cryptos like Solana (SOL), Cardano (ADA) were trading with losses. While in the meme coin section Dogecoin (DOGE) was trading with losses while Shiba Inu (SHIB) was trading with slight gains.
The crypto market cap rose about 0.61 per cent to $809.96 billion and its trading volume was down by 2.66 per cent to $33.84 billion, according to data from Coinmarketcap.com at 8.50 am.
Today’s top gainer was XDC Network (XDC); it was up 4.79 per cent at $0.02795. The top loser was Arweave (AR), which was trading at $7.24 with a loss of 3.97 per cent in the last 24 hours to Wednesday morning.
Bitcoin: BTC rose 0.78 per cent to $16,845.68.
BTC was trading with moderate gains on December 20 however around 8.20 pm its trading volume and price action spiked. Within an hour BTC’s value increased from about $16,700 levels to about $17,000 levels and even higher.
The lowest price for BTC was $16,709.92. BTC’s trading volume was up by 1.71 per cent at $20,075,097,448.
Binance (BNB): Binance’s (BNB) price rose 0.49 per cent to $248.87 in the last 24 hours to Wednesday morning.
BNB’s trade on December 20 was slightly volatile but its price remained confined within the narrow range of $247 to $252. Its trading volume as of December 21 morning was down by a significant margin.
Ethereum: Ethereum’s (ETH) price rose 1.52 per cent to $1,210.50 in the last 24 hours to Wednesday morning.
ETH’s trade on December 20 was highly volatile with its price revolving around $1,200 price levels. However around 8.20 pm ETH too saw the same heightened trading activity as did BTC and this lifted ETH’s price from $1,207 to $1,224 within an hour.
The lowest price for ETH was $1,191.64. ETH’s trading volume was up by 7.75 per cent at $5,952,361,101.
Other Altcoins: Solana’s (SOL) price was down by 0.52 per cent at $12.11 today.
Ripple (XRP) was up by 1.12 per cent at $0.343 and its 24-hour trading volume was $861.32 million.
Cardano (ADA) was down by 0.21 per cent to $0.2551. Cardano’s 24-hour trading volume was down by 28.85 per cent to $172,872,617.
Dogecoin fell 0.93 per cent at $0.07323. Its 24-hour trading volume was down by 39.3 per cent at $390,791,705.
Shiba Inu was up by 0.68 per cent to $0.000008353.
Yearn.Finance (YFI) was up by 0.13 per cent to $5,580.26. Its 24-hour trading volume was down by 15.93 per cent at $14,257,408.
Avalanche (AVAX) was up by 0.85 per cent at $11.82 and its 24-hour trading volume was down by 26.78 per cent at $114,903,875.
Aave (AAVE) was trading with a gain of 0.28 per cent at $55.09 and its 24-hour trading volume was at $38.34 million.
