Crypto Prices Today: Bitcoin (BTC) Down 4.21%, Dogecoin (DOGE) Loses 11.2%, Ethereum (ETH) Falls 7.54%

The crypto market cap today fell below the $800 million mark for a short span as prices of most cryptos were down by a significant margin. Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Binance (BNB) were all down with heavy losses. Most of the altcoins are making a new low price point with each passing hour. BTC was the most trending crypto .

The crypto market cap fell about 5.68 per cent to $801.7 billion and its trading volume was up by 43.42 per cent to $48.48 billion, according to data from Coinmarketcap.com at 8.50 am.

Today’s top gainer was UNUS SED LEO (LEO); it was up 6.23 per cent at $3.93. The top loser was Trust Wallet Token (TWT), which was trading at $1.46 with a loss of 32.17 per cent in the last 24 hours to Friday morning. 

Cryptocurrency Prices

Bitcoin: BTC fell 4.22 per cent to $16,686.58.

BTC was trading with marginal gains on the morning of December 16, however eased up all the incremental gains to trade with heavy losses. It was around 7 pm on December 16, when BTC dropped below the $17,000 mark.

The lowest price for BTC was $16,584.70. BTC’s trading volume was up by 25.57 per cent at $24,986,685,735.

Ethereum: Ethereum’s (ETH) price fell 7.54 per cent to $1,174.96 in the last 24 hours to Thursday morning.

ETH was highly volatile on December 16, and its price was trading within a narrow range between $1,271 to $1,274. The moment which resulted in ETH price registering a significant fall in drop occurred sometime around 1 pm. And after 1 pm with each passing hour ETH kept on making a new low price point.

The lowest price for ETH was $1,162.18 ETH’s trading volume was up by 81.41 per cent at $9,762,945,298.

Other Altcoins: Solana’s (SOL) price was down by 13.38 per cent at $12.15 today.

Ripple (XRP) was down by 6.42 per cent at $0.3531 and its 24-hour trading volume was $1.1 billion.

Cardano (ADA) was down by 12.75 per cent to $0.2621. Cardano’s 24-hour trading volume was up by 132.23 per cent to $472,733,700.

Binance (BNB) was down by 12.78 per cent to $228.76. Its 24-hour trading volume was up by 109.08 per cent at $1,438,157,714.

Meme Coins

Dogecoin fell 11.2 per cent at $0.07659. Its 24-hour trading volume was up by 115.69 per cent at $787,968,513.

Shiba Inu was down by 9.07 per cent to $0.000008149.

Decentralised Finance (DeFi)

Yearn.Finance (YFI) was down by 11.62 per cent to $5,550.05. Its 24-hour trading volume was down by 71.35 per cent at $24,959,888.

Avalanche (AVAX) was down by 11.93 per cent at $11.69 and its 24-hour trading volume was up by 47.99 per cent at $203,244,332.

Aave (AAVE) was trading with a loss of 11.39 per cent at $54.04 and its 24-hour trading volume was at $63.09 million.
