The country's second largest telecom services provider, Bharti Airtel, on Tuesday reported net profit of Rs 1,588 crore for quarter ended December 2022. That marked an upside of 91 per cent from Rs 830 crore during the same quarter last year.
Bharti Airtel's revenue from operations rose 20 per cent to Rs 35,804 crore compared with Rs 29,866 crore in the year ago period.
Bharti Airtel'e average revenue per user (ARPU), a key metric to track telecom company’s profitability, improved to Rs 193 per user per month versus Rs 163 per user per month during the same period last year.
Bharti Airtel's data customer base improved 11 per cent annually to 2,25,292 users out of which 2,16,721 users had subscribed to 4G services.
During the quarter Airtel launched its 5G services in 70 cities across the country.
Bharti AIrtel shares ended 0.5 per cent lower at Rs 785 ahead of its earnings announcement.
