At a time when OpenAI’s ChatGPT has taken the world by a storm, iPhone-maker Apple too, has now reportedly entered the game. As per updates, Apple has reportedly approved an AI chatbot-driven app.
According to a report in The Wall Street Journal, the iPhone-maker has given this nod after the app’s developer gave assurances on its content moderation powers. It adds that Apple has approved an app called a ‘BlueMail’ after knowing that it has content moderation tools.
The report adds that Apple reportedly also checked if a feature in the software that uses AI-powered language tools could generate inappropriate content for children. This was also on the backdrop of rising concerns related to ChatGPT, especially the ones where users reported generation of inappropriate content for some.
“It’s update includes content moderation....the company should make public any new policies about the use of ChatGPT or other similar AI systems in apps,” The Wall Street Journal quoted Ben Volach, co-founder of the app maker, Blix Inc., as saying to Apple.
Since ChatGPT has been released, while many have been surprised at its abilities to transform this space, its constant widespread use has also opened it up to more debate, especially on the ethical side.
With the release of ChatGPT, several tech companies are gearing up and entering the AI space. Recently, even Google revealed its Bard which was taken as more advanced to ChatGPT, but faced its own set of criticisms as many users felt that the launch happened in haste.
