Delhi Police Crime Branch busted an espionage network on Wednesday that was involved in leaking sensitive information related to the Union Ministry of Finance.
According to a statement issued by Delhi Police, a contractual employee named Sumit who works as a data operator has been arrested in association with the espionage network. It is alleged that he was leaking information from the Finance Ministry in lieu of money and providing classified data to foreign countries.
The reports of information leak are critical in view of the Union Budget 2023 that is scheduled to be presented on February 1, 2023.
