Nandico has developed a first of its kind software that is changing the workflow for radiology by significantly reducing turnaround time for doctors and patients. It isdigitalising radiology data via its Cloud based solutions.
Nandico was founded 3 years ago by Dr Bharat Gupta, alumini of Sanjay Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences, Lucknow to digitalize healthcare workflow. It was established with an aim to solve and bridge various problems in healthcare which are still managed in remote and conventional way in era of digitalization.
Dr Bharat Gupta says that current problem in healthcare is that it is very slow to adopt new technology. The reason being other sectors are less aware of healthcare complexities and people within healthcare industry are too busy due to heavy work pressure. Many problems are still persisting in this era which till date should have been solved. For example radiology scans are still printed on plastic films or CDs which is a concept from 1990s. Nowadays, even most laptops do not have a CD drive. Plastic films which were used in camera roles like Kodak, Fuji have been removed in other sectors but it still persist in healthcare. This shows slow pace of technology adoption in healthcare and is highly disappointing.

Nandico among its initial products offers a cloud-based Software as a Service (Saas) new generation Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS). It allows radiologist, clinicians to view radiology scans including CT , MRI, X ray , PET scan , DSA scans on any device, including Smartphone, laptop, and iPad at very low cost and immediately within minutes the scans are done. Also, scans are shared via link on WhatsApp to clinicians which help discuss scans and plan treatment in advance thus, saving lots of time.
Nandico cloud based PACS has the benefit of accessibility, convenience and cost effectiveness. The cloud based storage allows radiologist not be physically present at centre. Also, clinicians have access to the system. They can have data of their patients stored on Nandico which is proving very helpful in treatment and surgery planning, discussing scans with colleagues, on follow up visits of patients.

Patients don't have to wait for CDs and reports of scans at radiology center. Patients don't need to carry heavy bulky plastic films. Those Patients who are referred to higher center don't have to undergo repeat scans due to availability of limited images on plastic films. Nandico is saving lots of time and cost of treatment of patients.
Nandico aims to digitalize radiology and healthcare data to bridge the gap between radiologists, clinicians and patients to achieve new treatment standards. Nandico has shown growth with more than 700 of centres joined within a span of less than a year. It is an achievement for Nandico that 90% centres are joining through word of mouth. 80% radiologist are switching their day to day work on to cloud based PACS leaving remote way of receiving scans on mail and viewing it on laptops .70% Clinicians are now clicking on digital images of scans on their mobile and laptops . 60% patients are viewing link of scans and reports, sharing it with family doctors, for second opinion via whatsapp and email. Nandico saves a minimum of 90 minutes daily for Radiologists & Clinicians in managing their routine work.
Dr Bharat Gupta says that in a country like India shortage of Radiologists is a big challenge. To achieve radiology services in every corner of India Teleradiologyis playing pivotal role as it played during covid-19 time. But matter of grief is that mostTelereportingcompanies still relies on desktop based PACS. He says that it is like using landline phone in era of 5 G.
