Shilpa Shetty Returns To Kannada Cinema, Joins Dhruva Sarja’s ‘KD - The Devil’ As Satyavati

Despite being born in Karnataka, Shilpa Shetty Kundra has featured in only a few films in Sandalwood. After being a known face in Bollywood, she made her Kannada debut, and then went on to star in Tamil cinema with Prabhudheva’s ‘Mr Romeo’ (1996). Now after a hiatus of 18 years, she is all set to return to Kannada cinema with Dhruva Sarja‘s upcoming film ‘KD’ aka ‘KingDom’.

On the auspicious occasion of Gudi Padwa, the makers of Druva Sarja’s ambitious film ‘KD-The Devil’ announced a new entrant in the battlefield, and it is none other than Shilpa Shetty Kundra. Essaying the role of Satyavati in the pan-India film, the actress will be seen in an entirely new avatar, much to the excitement of fans.

While details are under wraps at the moment, the period action entertainer is said to be based on actual events that took place in Bangalore in the 1970s. Apart from Druva Sarja, who headlines the film, the project also stars V Ravichandran, Sanjay Dutt and with Shilpa Shetty Kundra now entering the war-zone, this one is guaranteed to leave audiences wanting more.

Sharing her excitement, Shilpa said, “A war is fought between kingdoms and every kingdom needs a ‘Satyavati’. I’m so excited and pumped to join the 'KD' battlefield and step into this powerful role.”

KVN Productions presents ‘KD-The Devil’, which is directed by Prem. The film is all set to release in Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, Malayalam, and Hindi.
