Can one ever imagine Sachin Tendulkar having coconut water at Juhu chowpatty? The former cricketer would still be mobbed if he makes an appearance anywhere in Mumbai or for that matter any Indian city. So, it’s nice to see the Indian legend enjoying himself in Rio in the times of Olympics. On Thursday, the former Indian batsman was seen sipping coconut water at a small shack by the beach, and no one bothered him for an autograph or a selfie.

On Friday, Sachin met some members of the Indian community from Rio and Sao Paulo. Looking relaxed, the legend talked to the Indians, signed his autographs on some books they had brought.

While Sachin, now retired, has got no media attention at all, the other Indian legend, Leander Paes has been making a lot of news – or noise. Landing in the city on Thursday, just a couple of days ahead of his first match, Paes was reportedly unhappy with the accommodation provided to him. Not ready to share a room with his supposed to be doubles partner Rohan Bopanna, the Indian tennis star was shacking up with an Indian official in the Olympic village.

While all kinds of rumours are circulating about Paes and why he is not ready to stay or partner with Bopanna, Sachin is enjoying his stay in Rio. He may be a god at home, but he is an unknown entity in this part of the world.
