The government of the United Arab Emirates is said to have seized properties worth Rs 15,000 crore belonging to underworld don Dawood Ibrahim.
The UAE government have confirmed that assets belonging to Ibrahim have been seized by them, said a report in The Financial Express quoting another news channel.
Ibrahim, an organised crime boss frequently seen in Karachi, is the most wanted man in India for the 1993 Bombay bombings that killed hundreds, and a US Specially Designated Global Terrorist. According to the United Nations, he funds the Pakistani militant group Lashkar-e-Taiba, which attacked Mumbai in 2008.
Home Minister Rajnath Singh had told PTI on Tuesday that efforts were on to nab the gangster but declined to comment on the matter as he didnt deem it fit for public consumption. Singh had also asserted the same last year, however.

The US government had last confirmed the whereabouts of Ibrahim in Pakistan.
On Tuesday, director Vishal Mishra and his producer Vinod Ramani had filed a complaint with the police saying that they had been receiving threats for a comedy scene which pokes fun of Dawood in the upcoming film Coffee with D. The filmmakers complaint mentions that calls received from Dawood aide Chhota Shakeel's office were asking him to delete some scenes from the said film.
