You don’t leave business card in wreaths, that’s what social media users essentially told Congress party for its condolence tweet over Sridevi’s death.
The Congress’s tweet, which mixed business with grief while tweeting out condolence message over the actor’s death, appeared to be cashing in on her.
In the tweet, now deleted, said: "We regret to hear about the passing away of Sridevi. An actor par excellence. A legend who will continue to live in our hearts through her stellar body of work. Our deepest condolences to her loved ones. She was awarded the Padma Shri by the UPA govt in 2013."
The last line of the condolence tweet raised many eyebrows, and left Twitteratti fuming. Many have called out the party for politicising her death.

Congress later deleted the said tweet and shared another, carefully without the last line. However, in a series of tweets, the party handle does mention about Sridevi receiving her Padma Shri from “Government of India”, and shared a picture of the same.
"She received a multitude of awards including the fourth highest civilian award the Padma Shri in 2013 by the Govt of India & 6 Filmfare awards, the first at the age of 14. Sridevi started her career at the age of 4 in 'Thunaivan'. Her Bollywood debut was in 'Julie' at 12," the tweet said, careful in replacing 'UPA govt' in the previous tweet to 'govt of India' here.

Offering condolences is one of best ways to react to a death or a tragedy. Most of us feel short of words or the right words while expressing sadness. But to get it wrong could prove costly to business houses or political parties. One of the etiquettes regarding offering condolences “is to not make it about you” or what you did. “Save it for later.”
Congress President Rahul Gandhi also condoled the actress' death, "Shocked to hear about the sudden and untimely death of one of India’s favourite actress, Sridevi. Sridevi was an incredibly talented and versatile actress whose vast body of work spanned a range of genres and languages. My condolences to her family. May her soul rest in peace," he tweeted.
The 54-year-old actor, wife of producer Boney Kapoor, died late on Saturday night reportedly due to cardiac arrest in Dubai, where she had gone along with her family to attend her nephew Mohit Marwah's wedding.
While some of her family members returned from Dubai after the wedding, Sridevi, Boney and her younger daughter Khushi stayed back. Her elder daughter -- Janhvi -- had not travelled with the family because of the shooting schedule for her upcoming Bollywood film, her first in the industry.
