September 8, 2006: 38 people killed and over 100 injured in three blasts, including one in a mosque-cum-graveyard, in Malegaon town in Nasikdistrict when Muslims had congregated for Shab-e-Barat. The Centre did not rule out the possibility of terrorist hand behind the bombings. 

July 7, 2006: Terror hit Mumbai trains at the peak return office hours between 6 - 6:30 PMas seven powerful serial blasts ripped through suburban trains on the busyWestern Line - at Mahim, Bandra, Matunga, Borivili, Mira Road, Jogeshwari andKhar - clearly targeted at the office crowd returning home. Killing closeto 200 people and seriously injuring more than 800.

August 25, 2003: Twoblasts occurred one after the other at the Gateway of India and ZaveriBazaar,killing 46 people and injuring more than 160. RDX was planted in taxis parked atboth these places.

March 13, 2003: Elevenpeople were killed and 65 injured when a powerful bomb exploded in a ladiesspecial train when it was entering Mulund railway station in the peak hours.

January 27, 2003: Thirtypeople were injured when a crude bomb planted in a bicycle exploded at ashopping complex outside Vile Parle railway station.

December 6, 2002: Twenty-fivepeople were injured when a bomb exploded in a food plaza at Bombay Centralrailway station. The bomb was planted in an air-conditioning duct.

December 2, 2002: Twopersons were killed and 31 injured when a powerful bomb exploded in a municipalbus outside Ghatkopar suburban railway station.

March 12, 1993: A seriesof bomb blasts ripped through 13 places in the city, killing 257 people andinjuring 713. These were the first blasts in which RDX was used and theexplosions were allegedly planned by underworld don DawoodIbrahim.
