In an attempt to revive the ancient language of Sanskrit, Uttar Pradesh Deputy CM Dinesh Sharma on Wednesday said that a separate board of Sanskrit education would be set up in the state.
Sharma, who is also the state's minister for secondary education, wants yoga to be included in school curriculum, reported Hindustan Times.
Speaking at a seminar organised in Lucknow by the Patanjali Yog Peeth, he said that the concept of haing a Sanskrit borad is first of its kind in India. "The State has Sanskrit Parishad but it is more or less defunct and is run only by only a handful of officials," HT reported him saying.

According to the minister, it is a revolutionary move, will enlighten the students ethically and develop their mindset.
The NDA government has , for long, been mulling over formulating steps for revival of Sanskrit which is entwined with the 'cultural traditions' of India.  Its earlier decision to replace German with Sanskrit as third language in central schools had run into controversy.
