In yet another exceptional attempt at carving a niche for himself in Bollywood, Nawazzudin Siddiqui has come up with 'Haramkhor’, a film written and directed by Shlok Sharma and produced by Anurag Kashyap.

After the unmatched success, critical and commercial, of movies like Gangs of Wasseypur and The Lunchbox , the makers seem to, yet again, bring a breath of fresh air to Indian Cinema with Haramkhor.

Starring Nawazzudin Siddiquie and Shweta Tripathi in lead roles, the movie is a twisted love traingle between a married school teacher, his student and her classmate.Yes, you read that right.

Watch the trailer here:

Shyam is a local tutor who has an illicit love affair with his student Sandhya who in turn is another student, an adolescent boy Kamal's love interest. Knowing about his competition, Kamal wonders "Yaar Isko koi aur nai milla kya? Bus Kaalu hi milla?"  (Did she have no other choice except for this dark man?) and then ponders "mujme kya kami hai?" (What's wrong with me).

With the help of his friend Mintu, Kamal tries hard to woo Sandhya, even sneaks in to the window in Sandhya’s room to see her naked, since he believes “ladka ladka ek dusre ko bina kapde ke dekh le, toh unki shadi ho jati hai” (Once a guy and a girl sees each other naked, they get married)

Despite controversies that surrounded the film since the first look came out in 2015, 'Haramkhor' has finally managed to get a UA certificate from the Censor Board and is set to release on January 13, 2017.

The movie took around 16 days to shoot and has already won accolades in film festivals. It was premiered in the 15th annual New York Indian Film Festival and Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles where Nawazzudin Siddiqui won the award in the ‘best actor’ category.
