The decomposed body of 19-year-old boy, who was the prime accused in the rape and murder of a 15-year-old Dalit girl in Haryana’s Jind district, has been found in Kurukshetra.
SHO Kurukshetra Dileep Singh told News18 that the body appeared to be three-four days old. “We got information about a dead body found near a canal. We got the body identified by the family. It is that of the missing suspect. A post-mortem is yet to be conducted,” he said.
Earlier it was reported the police had launched a hunt for a Class 12 student, who they suspect raped and murdered the girl.

According to ANI, the brutalised body of the girl, who went missing on January 9, was found near a canal in Budhakhera village on Friday night.
The body was found without any clothes in the lower parts. The private parts of the girl were mutilated and her liver was ruptured.
"The post-mortem report has revealed that her body was injured, mutilated and raped by at least three or four people," The Indian Express reported quoting Dr SK Dattarwal, head of the forensics department at PGIMS Rohtak as saying. "There were a lot of internal injuries. A hard and blunt thing was inserted inside her," he added.

"The victim had injuries on her face and inside the mouth, suggesting that she was kidnapped by multiple persons who prevented her from making noise," Dr SK Dhattarwal told Hindustan Times.
“The autopsy suggests this was an act of frustration. All the damage to her private parts seems to have been done after she was drowned and murdered. This was the work of more than one person who failed to sexually assault the victim while she was alive,” she added.
“My daughter was killed brutally, I want justice for her. I cannot fight a long battle for justice but I appeal to the police to send her criminals behind the bars,” the girl’s father told HT.
The police also have on their radar a 20-year-old boy whose picture was found in a locket around the minor’s neck.
