A decade-long tussle in Kerala's left ruling party-- between chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan and CPI-M founder member and former chief minister VS Achuthanandan-- has taken a twist for worse, this time.

Achuthanandan reportedly has written a letter to the party's leadership complaining that he has not been paid his salary despite holding a cabinet minister rank.

Achuthanandan, last year, was given the job as the chairman of the Kerala administrative reforms commission on Yechury's intervention after his arch rival Vijayan became the chief minister besting him.

The chairman of the commission, which was created to suggest ways to better administrative efficiency, didn’t report to the chief minister, keeping in mind Achuthanandan’s reluctance to take orders from Vijayan. Likewise, the party kept the nonagenarian away from the running of the government to thwart the possibility of him becoming a super chief minister.

But ever since he got the post in last August, he did not get any salary but was given an official accommodation and a vehicle. His office has five officials and they too did not receive any money, said a report in the Hindustan Times.
