In a tragic case on the aftermath of demonetisation, a property dealer from Haryana has been arrested for murdering his domestic help and showing the body as his own to claim insurance money worth Rs 3.25 Crore, reports The Times Of India.
Baljeet Singh was running a small scale moneylending business which saw a considerate decline in demand and subsequently huge losses, post the government's sudden move to demonetise currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 on November 8, making it difficult for him to pay his debts.
Baljeet, 30, got the idea to commit the crime from the 2001 movie, 'Ajnabee'.
