A news anchor had the terrible call of finding out about her husband's death while reading out on Sarurday morning a breaking news about a car crash -- but bravely carried on anchoring for a few more minutes until the bulletin wrapped up.

According to a report by the Hindustan Times, Supreet Kaur, a news reporter at Chhattisgarh’s private IBC-24 channel was going through a live news bulletin when a reporter called in giving details of an accident involving a Renault Duster at Pithara in Mahasamund district earlier in the day.

The accident turned fatal for three of the five people travelling in the vehicle. Supreet Kaur had reckoned that among the dead, could be her husband who too was to travel in a Renault Duster along the same route during the same time along with four companions.

The realisation however, didn't deter her spirit of performing her duty as a news reporter. Maintaining her composure, Kaur continued to report the news, breaking down only after walking out of the TV studio after the news hour.

“She got a sense that it was her husband’s vehicle. She read the bulletin and only when she came out of the studio, she started calling her relatives,” the report quoted the senior editor as saying.

The editor said the staffers had come to know that her husband was dead while she was reading the news. “But we did not tell her. We did not have the courage,” the editor explained.
