'Barbaric And Unprovoked'

The government’s decision to forcefully end the peaceful fast of Baba Ramdev is highly unfortunate and comes as a complete surprise. It is hard to understand the motivation for this move by the government. The IAC movement condemns this clamp down on the fast and sees this as a blatant violation of the democratic rights of the people. The IAC movement would like to condemn the government’s actions and express our support and heartfelt sympathies for Baba Ramdev and his supporters.

We strongly condemn the barbaric and unprovoked action of the government. This government is corrupt and has shown to what extent it can stoop to crush a peaceful anti-corruption agitation. We demand an explanation from the Prime Minister, who is believed to be honest, as to why did his government has to resort to such heinous acts? This is an assault on democracy. If the government feels that they can muzzle our voice, they are mistaken. Their brutality has strengthened our resolve. We call upon the countrymen to be prepared to make biggest sacrifices – be prepared to go to jail and if need be, lay down our lives.
