BJP has called off its unimaginative plan to distribute laddoo to every house to thank people for their support for demonetization, says a report.
The Indian Express reported that the newly appointed state BJP president Manoj Tiwari said: “The humble and simple decision was blown out of proportion.”
“Now, no laddoo and no thank-you note. Cadres will go to each house to thank and discuss the demonetization move,” Tiwari said.
On December 13, more than a month after demonetisation was announced by Narendra Modi, the actor-turned politician said: "Despite facing some inconvenience, people supported the move. Now, it is our turn to thank them and show our appreciation and respect for their patience," Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari The Indian Express.

But the demonetisation scheme was halted after the RSS, BJP’s ideological fountainhead, halting the plan.
“The RSS wanted the BJP to wait till December 31, gauge the mood of people and then “celebrate” if the situation demanded,” reported Asian Age, a paper founded and earlier edited by Minister of State (MoS) for External Affairs MJ Akbar.
A Delhi BJP leader said; “RSS was not happy over our decision to offer laddoos to people at the moment.” The RSS brass made it categorically clear that the state units must “assess the mood of people and then decide what to do.”.
BJP leaders then re-scheduled the plan, and decided to distribute one laddoo per family in every household in the city from door to door from 1 January to January 10.

The plan has now been dropped, and the State BJP chief said: “he will spend nights at Jhuggi Jhopri cluster for a week…to interact with them and understand their problems”, reported Express.
