On Tuesday evening, three militants were killed and an army soldier received bullet injuries during an encounter between army personnel and militants in north Kashmir's Hajin Kralgund village in Handwara area of Kupwara district, reports ANI.
It was the second encounter between security forces and militants in a single day.
A joint operation was conducted with J&K police's SOG wing and Army's 30 RR after receiving specific information about presence of militants.
Security forces have sealed the area and the search opeartion is still on.
Earlier in the day three soldiers and a militant were killed in another gunfight during an anti-militancy operation in Bandipora. Eight security men, two officers among them, were injured in the gun battle.
