Vinod 'Sonia ka Choosa' Mehta, has freedom of speech. Its constituitional.

But does that mean, he has the right to insult other's intelligence by saying 'occasion to burst crackers'?

Will he answer the following questions;

# The skills required to navigate a boat from high seas to shores of mumbai, as done by Kasab and co, can happen only with military training.

# The tactics employed of diverting attention by attacking CST terminus in mumbai, while the terrorists sneaked into oberoi and taj are commando tactics, borne out of military thinking.

# Kasab's confession is a load of malarkey, primarily intended to prevent the trial proceeding further, because, he somehow knew that next step would be deposition by FBI agents, as was proved by Ujwal Nikam handing out a sealed envelope to the trial judge.

# around 5 people have been arrested and 13 plus are absconding. So it was these 18 people only who were responsible for the entire mumbai terror attack? So does mehta express satisfaction about the farce being enacted by pakistan in the name of trial? Till now there is no progress in the trial, it has repeatedly been postponed, jude being unavailable, being changed at times etc....

Its all fair to Mehta to dole out his Malarkey and to try to help the congress by getting a rice scam front page, which could divert the oppostion's attention.

but the Damage to India and its interest is severe.

But then, sonia poodle's mehta and manmohan, cannot be expected to address india's concern.

Sir, why r u so lukewarm in criticizng the obvious. watching u over a period in various debates on tv and in writing i have been disappointed - a robust media ia a sine quo non for a healthy democracy, but unfortunately media czars / editors in our country are too tilted towards a particular political party that in your case is Congress. You forget u'r duty as the fourth pillar of our democracy.

Your dislike for BJP is understandable, yet u will also accept that BJP 6 yrs in power were largely a succesful time and they did quite well on many issues.

yesterday after the sharm - al sheikh discussion on times now u centred u'r criticism on principle opposition party for how they behaved or spoke in parliament. rather than the congress. it appears to be part of game.

sorry sir, the indian democracy will be strengthened only if people like u in media ask questions on the conduct of the GOVERNMENT OF THE DAY. where if the opposition flounders u'r (media) job is to ask hard questions and corner the government by complementing it. u cannot become unofficial spokesman of the govt or unofficial spin doctor. u cannot allow crucial time on TV debates being wasted questioning the opposition rather than the govt.the country will be served better if ruling party is made answerable not those who are sitting in opposition. my take is on such issues the media has to ask 5 questions from the govt and if require also 1 question from the opposition for there inability to handle the issue properly. i mean to say that focus of questions should be more towards the government so as to remind it of the public opinion as it is ruling the country. that should be the role of media.

alas as of now many in media including u question the opposition more and let the govt out of hook. this is very sad. how so ever u look at the jt statement, MMS has floundered to the dismay of all. baloch thing was plainly stupid and PM's reply quite inane even if u agree that dialogue with congress is a must. and how about a developing megalomania of power-- upa doesnt need lessons from BJP. and UPA has forced pak to accept role of lashkar. media should bring PM to senses as it is anachronistic to claim victory. plus it was by default and grace of Omble that we could catch live terrorist. and this time the mastermind proved to be foolish enough to come with satellites and constantly leaving traces behind plus they targeted jews and westerners. to add it now how so ever one lampoon zardari he cannot be with terrorists who killed his wife and draws his legitimacy out of democratic vote rather than pak army which derives its legitimacy as a bulwark against enemy hindu india. MMS is a nice man but even in nice men power sometimes goes to head and its u'r job to remind him to comeback to senses on such claims.

thanx for reading
i hope u will at least give a thot to the above.

'Sharmiley' Manmohan Singh's 'Be-sharmi' in signnig that 'Sharm-nak' agreement might have led to 'Sharmindagi'. Such 'Sharma-Sharmi' has always been the cornerstone of Indo-Pak relations though.

But the kind of 'Sharm-sari' and 'Sharm-gini' I faced due to this 'Sharm-zada' meeting that I hosted is unprecedented. Kuch to 'Ghairat' aur 'Haya' Karo. 'Ghairat' and 'Haya' are varients of 'Sharm' that could have been used to let me have my peace. But as a famous poet of your great country would put it,

Sharm Tumko Magar Nahi Aati

---Riposte by 'Sharm-Al-Sheikh' which has been on the wrong side of history as the Sharm part of its name has been perhaps the most abused (editorially) term in the recent past.

You say that the composite dialogue is to be restarted. But I wonder what the two countries are to talk about, if not terrorism. Do they discuss the food served? Or the weather? To my mind, the only issue that India should be talking about is terror. Nothing else matters.

Amazing logic by Mehta.

". The Gilani-Manmohan summit at Sharm el-Sheikh should be an occasion for bursting crackers, not lodging serial complaints."

And two sentences later, this gem

"Indo-Pak joint statements are not worth the paper they are written on"

So the conclusion:: You burst crackers whenever whenever something worthless happens. That is something new-Mehtaism.

Yes, Chanakya Vinod. We should be thankful for small mercies of the Pakis. Yes, we eunuchs despite having world's fourth largest army can not even destroy the POK training camps. Therefore whatever bits and pieces of bones Pakis throw at us we must lap it up without complaining despite discordant notes on a piece of paper. Long live your tribe!

All of you are trying to give spin to rationilise the unthought-out introduction of two new factors into the joint statement. The plain fact is that the PM & his cronies just didn't undersatand the implications of what is being written in the satement. They signed what they were being told to sign, good bureaucrats as they are. Dammit, how can one say no to the Americans! That simply is not done.

That the PM & his circle has no conviction or courage in this matter is reinforced by the fact , they now are trying to backtrack on what they ageed to at Sharm -el -Sheikh. A little goof-up must be allowed for proxy PMs.
